Willis Autos Import never disappoints
20 minutes agoThe 2016 Nissan Maxima made a bold statement with its redesign, re-establishing its "4-Door Sports Car" legacy. The new Maxima, heavily influenced by the Nissan Sport Sedan Concept, debuted with a sleek, lower, and longer profile, and a more aggressive stance. Its exterior features a striking V-Motion grille, boomerang-shaped headlights and taillights, and a distinctive "floating roof" design.
Under the hood, the Maxima boasts a revised 3.5-liter V6 engine, now producing 300 horsepower and 261 lb-ft of torque. The engine, which shares some technology with the legendary GT-R, is paired with a new performance-oriented Xtronic continuously variable transmission (CVT) that includes D-Step shifting logic for a more responsive feel. This combination not only enhances performance but also improves highway fuel economy.
The interior of the 2016 Maxima was completely revamped to create a "command central" driver's cockpit. The center stack is angled seven degrees toward the driver, and a new Display Commander control on the console provides easy access to the infotainment system. The cabin features high-quality materials, with available diamond-quilted leather or Alcantara inserts on the SR model. Technology is a key highlight, with a standard 8-inch touchscreen display, navigation, and a 7-inch Advanced Drive Assist Display in the instrument cluster.
For those seeking a sportier experience, the SR trim offers a unique sport-tuned suspension, larger stabilizer bars, and 19-inch wheels. Standard and available safety features include a rearview camera, blind-spot warning, rear cross-traffic alert, and forward emergency braking. The redesigned 2016 Nissan Maxima succeeded in bridging the gap between a mainstream family sedan and a true luxury car, offering an exciting blend of performance, style, and premium features.

I love how this post highlights the "4-Door Sports Car" feel of the new Maxima. The details about the V-Motion grille and the revamped interior with the angled dashboard really capture how much of a design leap forward the 2016 model was. 🏎️

This is a great breakdown of the engine and transmission. It's especially helpful to read about how the new Xtronic CVT with D-Step shifting works—it's one of the key upgrades that makes the car feel so much more responsive. Definitely makes me want to test drive one!
